I think you included a wide variety of technology tools and had a sound rationale for including all of them. I think the students will get a lot of the authenticity of the lesson. Great job!

Laura, I really like this lesson. Could you potentially have the contact at Caterpillar zoom with your class and review their proposals in real time? I have always thought that when students get the impression they are presenting for a professional that they end up getting better results and are more focused because it becomes more "real" for them. Just a thought!

That is a really cool idea! Makes it almost like they are proposing it for real.

Laura, As always your work is clear and stated well. You mentioned using a Symbaloo to give resources for your students. One thing to consider is maybe restricting students to use a software they have already used for your class or another to help the time constraint? Other than that I think this i a great way to tackle the problem of practice and create the best experience for your students.

I completely agree with this and it's a tough call to make - when to expose them to new tools and when to utilize tools they are familiar with. In choosing these tools, I tried to utilize a few that were familiar, and in the others, I tried to choose ones that are pretty quick to pick up on. To do this project well, it does require quite a bit of time, so finding tools that make that time more valuable is challenging!
