Week 4 #F5F

Following: Every time I go on twitter I think of more connections that I should be following.

PM Music was the music store my old placement worked with, and I would very much like to work with them again. They have been super helpful to me and supportive, especially when looking for a new placement. They let me borrow multiple instruments to brush up on my playing to prepare for interviews.

SmartMusic is a great tool for music educators to use. There has not been too much with guitar on there, but I can for sure utilize it for theory, scales, sight reading, etc.

I have worked with Songsterr, even did a challenge with it, I didn't think to follow them on Twitter. I think this will work out well as I will see tips or new features as they pop up!

Retweets: I found a couple great sources this week that were helpful, inspiring, and some good professional development!

Katie Wardobe shared a great aid for working with Canva. Like I tweeted, I just fool around with a theme, but reading through this article showed me it is super easy to customize everything and create a classroom theme!

This looks to be a great webinar on non-traditional music ensembles. I'm very big on exploring and expanding your program to reach more students. Non-traditional and modern programs are a great way to attract more students.

This is a cool article advocating for music in all classrooms. It discusses the benefits it brings to multiple types of students, and gives you ideas or how adding music can help in different subjects. Cross-curricular!

I thought this was really cool, and super cute. A teacher wanted to help her 2nd graders have their voice heard, so she created a podcast for them. I'm a little bummed there were only two short podcasts, but they are super cute. The students came up with the questions for interviews, and also create the music on Garageband.

I am really starting to enjoy scrolling through Twitter. I feel like I have missed a lot, and get a little overwhelmed when trying to navigate and find a way to search for specific types of posts, but it's getting easier. I am going to continue to look through Twitter and use it as a tool for my future teaching. (and I mean it this time!)
