1. As it says, I am going in to my 5th year and I have never had a mentor. The person I replaced was supposed to be my mentor, but he went to assistant principal and then principal. He is also my evaluator so he gave me feedback with my evaluations, but that's it. I do not ever see him in my class unless it SLO time.
Also, what if first year teachers were given time to observe other teachers in their building? It would give them some ideas to bring back to their own classroom. This does not happen too often.
2. What would you tell them? If I could give them another piece of advice, it would be to not work your life away and know that you have the time to spend on YOU!
3. Please tell me someone else found this funny...
4. I have been introduced to podcasts lately and am looking for some educational podcasts. Anyone have any suggestions?
5. I have been looking for some STEM activities to include in my curriculums for my math courses. I have found out that the NASA website has some pretty awesome activities. I may be including this one in my curriculum this year! I have actual rovers that my students could do this on as well! It would be such a cool activity for them to learn about Distance formula!
