Week 2 Find 1:
Last week I had noticed several summer PD sessions being promoted through social media. In following #teacherPD, I also came across a few more recommended chats. I thought I would save it for future reference.
Week 2 Find 2:
As I was looking for interactive, digital tools, I also started following @icivics. Specifically, I was reading more about their NewsFeed Defenders online game: https://www.icivics.org/games/newsfeed-defenders. NewsFeed reminds me of Google’s Be Internet Awesome game and Common Sense Media’s Digital Passport & Compass digital literacy/citizenship online tools.
Week 2 Find 3:
One of the information science scholars I follow retweeted some stats from @pewresearch showing issues with the digital divide. While there is growth in technology, many still have issues with broadband.
Week 2 Find 4:
One of the posts I saw online led me to the article “7 Augmented Reality Tools for the Classroom”. I have used Quiver coloring sheets before, but realized there were more applications available now. While most of the applications they mention cost $, I have been interested in learning more about the MergeCubes.
Week 2 Find 5:
One of my favorite finds for the week was the release of AASL’s Best Digital Tools for Teaching & Learning list. It is shared annually, and I was interested to see which tools they recommended this year. There are several on the list from Britannica for research. It was also good to see Checkology & Overdrive’s read app, Sora made the list.
