Find#1: EdPuzzle is a platform I had never heard about. I learned that teachers can create instructional videos and include multiple-choice questions or notes. I would have loved to use this last semester with my students. I was only using Contraseña because it provided videos explaining the grammar structures or vocabulary to the students which also included a PDF with notes. My students would have appreciated videos that I would have created with additional explanations.
Find#2: I found an upcoming 12 hour LIVE on July 14 from @teachbetterteam on Twitter. I would like to join on some of them. They will be having special guests and interesting topics to listen to. I would want to tune into “Brain break “and “My favorite resource I need this fall.” I have never attended anything like this before and it would be a very interesting experience.
Find#3: I found a tweet from @teacher2teacher where they shared a picture with a heart stating “What’s something you love to say to your students?” and they added a caption with “What’s one thing you tell you Ss every day?.” Something I love to tell my students is how proud I am of them. I was so proud of them for being able to come to class, for participating, and for putting effort into everything they do. This is something I would say often to my class last semester, I could see they were putting in all their effort despite being overwhelmed with all of their classes and the pandemic. I could understand their frustration because I was also a student and it was very difficult to concentrate.
Find#4: I found Coffee Break Languages through Twitter. I had already been following them, but I had never realized they had a podcast. They have podcasts that help people learn French, Spanish, German, Italian, English, and Chinese. Not only that, but they have the levels organize through seasons. I am going to start my morning with this podcast because I want to learn French. I can definitely promote this in my classes.
Find#5: I found another post by @teacher2teacher with a picture stating, “Shout out the books you’re most excited to read this summer.” One of the books I have been wanting to read for a long time is “I Am Not Your Mexican Daughter.” I already have the book, but I just have been busy. I am looking for more recommendations on more books to read. My goal is to at least three books this summer.
