Week 2-Midweek Update

Hey all! Somehow we are already 1/2 way through the week! I don't know about you but the week has just gotten away from me.

Goal Dates

How are you doing on these? Do you need to make any updates? Are you behind? How will that impact the next few weeks for you. Where might you gain ground?

Connected Educator

While most of this course is self paced the Connected Educator challenge is meant to be completed across the four weeks. If you have not started this yet you need to prioritize this and get to it ASAP. By the end of this week I would hope that everyone has done the preliminary pieces of this assignment and has added two of the required four new connections. I will be checking these next week to provide some mid assignment feedback for all of you.

Feedback

How is this working for you? Are you getting alerted when I leave feedback or when I ask for revisions? We use to use Slack as a communication tool which allowed me more interactivity with the class as a whole. I am trying out some new things this summer and would love to hear from you if it is working or not. Chat me in Wix if there is something I can do for you to make that smoother.

Connecting/Critical Learner

You might have noticed in the lessons that there are always sections where it says "Consider sharing..." or some version of that and then it even offers some hashtags. This use to be a requirement of this course, but we have scaled back on some of that which is why the language is now more ambiguous "Consider". I am a true social constructivist so think there is power in building conversations in person and digitally to solidify your learning so I hope you will engage in these exercises. I am not tracking them though. You might chose to track how you have done this though as evidence for your Critical Learner badge. This is a great way to show how you have gone beyond the course assignments and have truly integrated this into your thinking and planning.

Out of Office

I will be traveling soon. We are heading to GA to visit family and friends. This should not really impact you much, aside from I might not be as readily available on the day that we are traveling/driving. [We were suppose to leave on Thursday early morning, but my son seems to have developed a fever so we might be delayed a day or two]. For these summer classes I do my best to really stick to a 48 hour turn around on assignments and I still think I can do this when traveling (Of course this does not include the weekends). I appreciate your patience though.

Feedback

I should be pretty up to date on feedback as of 6:45 pm on 6/28. If I overlooked something of yours please send me a message. I have been distracted the past few days so sometimes I would start something and then something else would pop up and I might forget to go back to it. Anytime you feel that I have missed something of yours, I appreciate a friendly reminder. I don't want you to feel like you are doing a lot of waiting for feedback.
