Hey all! I am so happy that you all have joined me this summer in this course. I have enjoyed reading your introduction post and learning more about you all week. As Week 1 comes to an end a few updates for TCH 401.
1. Logging in to the site: I am changing my mind about that, again 🤦♀️ I am going to reformat
the site this weekend so that you have to sign in to access it. This is my first time trying to
use the chatting feature without site members and it just doesn't work well. When you are
sending me a message I am not getting alerts, and it is not adding your name, so I don't
know who the messages are from. Luckily, logging in is EASY. Simply click on "Log In" in the
top right corner and join using your preferred email address. Feel free to use any email
address you have access to throughout the semester. It will hopefully also help you by
giving you a notification when a blog post (like this one is added), and will let you leave
comments below.
2. Badge Tracker: This is my first time using the badge tracker as our main source of
feedback and communication. I think it is going well, but originally I was using the
commenting feature. I was noticing that this was getting a little crowded though so I am
now creating a p. 2 that says Dr. Falbe Comments. Here you will see a running list of my
feedback for each challenge with the date that I leave it. You can respond to me there in a
different color or use the commenting feature. I will continue to leave a comment saying
feedback below so that Google will alert you that there is text there. You can resolve that
out once you have seen it. It will me take me through next week to get that added and
changed over for everyone. I really appreciate your flexibility and look forward to hearing
from you on how that is working.
3. Once we get the chat up and running this weekend, please use that to alert me to
assignments being ready to be viewed or when you have revisions. I should also get
notifications if you leave comments on your badge sheet but only if you alert me to them.
4. Its the weekend! I know that you all might be busy working this weekend, but keep in
mind that I will typically be away from my computer and work. If you need something
always reach out and I am happy to get to you as I am able to. I hope you find time for rest
and recharging this weekend too!
Thanks everyone! I will send another message on Monday checking in with how you are doing. Feel free to leave any class questions below.
