Conclusion:
1. Has your opinion changed?
No, I have not changed my opinion on Edpuzzle. I believe it is a wonderful educational tool and will continue to use it in the future. However, since my position is changing in the fall, I will need to be more creative with my implementation and questioning throughout the videos since many of my students will not be able to read yet.
2. Does it do what you want it to do after taking all of these elements into consideration?
For the most part, yes, however the software would be improved if there was a way for students to insert questions while they were watching a video to ask for more clarification.
3. Will you continue to use it in the manner you previously used it?
Yes and no. I will continue to use it as a tool for mathematics instruction, but I will need to insert pictorial answer choices instead of words. I will be working with kindergarten and first grade students with IEPs and not all of them will be able to read.
4. Will you make changes based on your discoveries?
Yes, since Edpuzzle is not as interactive from the students' perspective, I also plan to use sites like "extramath.org" and utilize "Success Maker" that is part of our Savvas Mathematics curriculum.
5. Will you abandon it?
No, I will continue to use Edpuzzle in the future.
This is the first time that I am hearing about Edpuzzle. I definitely need to explore the software because it would benefit future my classroom. I really like that the software allows for the teachers to embed notes and multiple-choice questions. Not only that, but students’ views, and tasks are tracked. This would have helped my students last semester because I would only meet with them twice a week for 50 minutes.
I like this quite a bit! I love the fact that you can create your own videos/posts AND embed your own questions/information straight into the video! That would be awesome! I also like that student viewing can be tracked. I believe Edpuzzle would be awesome for those doing a flipped classroom!
