I really like your idea of having students use technology tools such as Smart Music, Tonal Energy Tuner, and YouTube to identify issues in their own learning and playing. You're right about individual playing issues not always being address due to time constraints. We should direct our students towards using certain tech tools to assist them with problems they have in their own musicianship.

I relate to your Problem of Practice in many ways, even as a Spanish teacher. The grasping of concepts and then the practice outside of the classroom are also apparent in my discipline. I appreciate to see this though, it's not just me on this island. You have many resources to pull from and engage our learners. How do your students react to the Smartmusic program? Do you use this on a regular basis? It sound very useful and a great way to see progress if that is tracked.

Honestly, I've never used smartmusic because I've never had the resources, or the program itself. I have colleagues in other schools that use it and love it though! It helps them assess the students and helps the students see some individual issues that may go unnoticed in class. It's a really quality program.

A theme I saw between yours and mine (a math classroom) are that a lot of problems need a direct strategy originally with a goal of moving to a more constructive approach.
