The five problems of practice identified in this Bubbl.us map are issues I have found in my time teaching middle school band. I tried to think of problems that I come across each year with my students and how I can incorporate technology tools to assist students to better understand, practice, or develop these lacking skills.

I can relate to your students struggling with motivation. I believe that one hits for everyone. Sometimes it is really hard to motivate students to do their work, especially when they have all kinds of outside infulences. I think you combat that well with a program that allows them to choose their song. This might give them motivation to master some of their favorites! Great job!
Very good examples! I hadn't heard of flat but it looks interesting and useful, so I'm going to continue to mess with it. Also, I haven't thought about sight reading factory in years! I looked on there website and saw it's only $35/year! I may see if my school will pay for that and use it the exact same way you've suggested here.
Julie, as I read over your Problem of Practice it was again like I was reading mine. I commented this on another colleague's post that foreign language and music are so different yet so similar. I see some of the same problems in my classroom as I teach Spanish. I've been following closely to your ideas and reflections to see if I get some ideas as well. Thanks for sharing.
