Reflection: My main takeaway from this activity was seeing the overlap between the ISTE standards and the C3 standards and how both were trying to get students to practice similar skills. The main difference was that ISTE focused on technology while C3 didn't necessarily require it. However, almost any C3 standard could incorporate technology in order to accomplish it. This just reminds me that most lessons for social studies could incorporate technology to lead to better results. I think for me, the big challenge is finding the time to master the new technologies that I learn about enough that I can answer questions for my students if they have any. I certainly like the collaboration aspects of many of the ISTE standards, and this is something I would like to see more of in my social studies classes overall.
