Tonal energy is the best! I have it on all of my devices and always recommend it to my students. There are so many uses for it and it's really user-friendly.
Hi David! This sounds like an awesome tool to use in the classroom! When my school implemented 1:1 iPad's I can remember the band teacher was trying to figure out how in the world to incorporate this into his class. It sounds like it really allows you to be able to integrate and transform your class with this. Just by looking at your infographic I'd agree with Julie that it seems to meet the Redefinition level of SAMR. I'll have to pass this along to him to see if he has used it. I wish something like this was available when I took band in school.
Hey David! I was excited to read your infographic because I also use Tonal Energy Tuner with my students. It is an amazing tool. In my opinion, it is the best tuner/metronome app ever made! It's all encompassing and more! I would actually argue that Tonal Energy reaches the Redefinition level of SAMR because it includes technologies and opportunities previously inconceivable. For example, the amazing Analysis function of TE Tuner shows the pitch consistency, intonation, and articulation on a graph. Double-tapping allows the user to freeze the graph, giving students an opportunity to analyze these 3 elements of the note played. This technology is now in the palm of our students' hands!
This sounds like such a cool tool! It is very interesting to hear what is out there for other content areas. I love that students have the ability to share with each other, as well as that you can use it to individualize instruction and meet kids where they are at. Thanks for sharing!
