Hello! My name is Bronco Meeks. I am from Batavia, Illinois. I grew up in Batavia and was a graduate of Batavia High School. After graduating from Illinois State University, I was lucky enough to receive a teaching position at Batavia High School. I have now been teaching at Batavia for 14 years. My current position is the Building Trades and civil engineering instructor.
My wife, Kathleen, and I met as students at Illinois State University. We were both athletes on the track and cross country teams. Kathleen is a teacher as well. She has taught social studies at Downers Grove South High School for 8 years. Kathleen and I have been married for 9 years now. We have a 4-year-old daughter named Skylar and a 10 month old son named Micah.
Running is a big part of my life. Though I still continue to try and get out to do mileage daily, I am now more coach than athlete. I have been the head cross country coach at Batavia High School for 8 years. I have also been an assistant track coach for 14 years. Coaching is something that I truly love to do. This week I will be heading to Eastern Illinois w/ our team for the state track meet.
Thanks for reading! I am looking forward to learning from everyone in this class!
Hi Bronco! How fortunate you are to have been able to return to your old school. I often wonder if it feels awkward transitioning from being a student to a colleague. Did you find that to be the case? Thanks for sharing the pictures, too. Good luck at State!
