YA Novels have the POWER to invite important conversations into our classrooms but when supported with a variety of multimodal texts that speak to the systems and structures established in our current society. Rather than solely reading a novel independent of the human condition, design learning for students that embraces lived experiences and promotes a variety of perspectives. Below, we want to share the YA novels we've used with students along with the various other texts we paired with it to construct a learning experience for our students to create meaningful and important questions about the world around them.
